Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju - ep4: Her double life

Gotta love that fist though!!
I thought I'd find Joon-hyung's way of school boy teasing super frustrating, but I'm actually rather liking it, and even find it endearing at times. I mean for one, it shows just how comfortable he is around Bok-ju, enough to want to just be his goofy self. Two, he clearly teases her in a manner which gets a reaction from her because he enjoys it, but at the same time, doesn't intend for it to hurt her feelings - at this point, we know enough of Joon-hyung's character to know that he'd regret if ever did. And three, I can see Bok-ju warming up to his playful attitude, seen as though she no longer tells him to get lost - although, I love that she continues to fake fist him in the face whenever he acts like a muppet. I think at that age, the schoolboy teasing is all part of the growing attraction which comes with young love. The subtle, and sometimes not so subtle teasing just to get your crush's attention, or the endless excuses you find just to get that little bit closer! Happy days, or not (shrugs), either way, it's just nice to see Joon-hyung wear his heart on his sleeve. He's not a "tsundere" by any definition, just boyishly playful, without the cold demeanour.

Their walk home was so awesome! For once, Joon-hyung had his trap shut and was walking behind her just minding his own business. I love that it was Bok-ju who broke the silence by constantly looking back, torn over whether or not she should ask his opinion over Jae-yi's matter. It's funny, coz even though she doesn't say it's about her, the fact that she even asks for his opinion over a personal matter is already a big step in terms of their growing friendship. It's made all the more funny when she takes Joon-hyung's advice head on. LOL she's either too gullible, or she trusts Joon-hyung's advice based on the fact that he's the only other male she knows outside her family circle who she can comfortable relay all this too. And I swear Nam Joo-hyuk should just stick to these kind of comedic roles coz his expressions are a hoot! They way he scrunches up his face to show that he's listening with deep concentration - my word, that had me laughing out loud! =))

I found his advice about gifting someone something handmade pretty interesting though, in that he'd find the gesture rather burdensome, especially when there's no closeness involved in the relationship - take note, Bok-joo!

Ha, I loved the bike ride he gave her back to her dorms. Though she got on forcefully (in her panicked state), at which point he calls her a nuisance, he still has this massive grin spread across his face showing that he friggin loves it. Naturally, he whines about how heavy she is the entire time, calling her, wait for it... a "pig-like thing" - okay, now I'd wallop him one!

He's back to being a juvenile again when he sees her at the cafeteria and takes away her lunch tray, but this time, Bok-ju reacts to his teasing in a way which makes him tease her even more, getting handsy in the process! Oh, he's enjoying this way too much. In fact, so am I. It's so much fun watching the two bicker in a non-bickering way. You can totally sense the eyerolls coming from all directions whilst the two get lost in their own frolicking! Oh, stop it you two!

LOL whoever wrote the dialogue should get an award though, coz Joon-hyung's lines are funny as hell. Him comparing her food helpings to famous mountain peaks had me rolling!! It's totally childish, but I love it! Love the way he mimicked bok-ju too - what a brat!
Ah, she gets caught at the end by none other than Joon-hyung, who's at the weight clinic to see his brother! Ooh, things just got real interesting, especially since Joon-hyung has already keenly noticed that Bok-ju has indeed lost weight. A nice touch considering not even her friends pick up on her weight loss - just goes to show how closely Joon-hyung must observe her! /hmm

Busted!
