Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-ju - ep14: This woman in my woman

First love can be hella awkward! Especially if you're new to a lot of the feelings it evokes - in Bok-ju's case, jealousy, insecurity and embarrassment. But it's damn refreshing how those feelings come to the surface only to have Joon-hyung embrace them all as qualities his finds most endearing in the woman that he loves. And in his eyes, ain't no finer woman than Bok-ju, whom he's only too happy to claim as his own.

이 여자는 내 여자 다!
                          - Joon-hyung

Tae-kwon: She eats so much....and is too strong!
Joon-hyung: What's wrong with that!? I find her even sexier because of that.
Me: Preach it, Joon-hyung!! *fist bumps air*

Sometimes, a giddy start to the episode is all it takes...

for a cycle of cuteness to ensue!

I love how Joon-hyung had hearts in his eyes throughout pretty much the whole episode - he couldn't make it anymore obvious even if he tried! The scene at the school cafeteria had me in hysterics, when Bok-ju sent Joon-hyung flying to the ground after he *oh so casually* tried to take hold of her hands. It's pretty funny how eager Joon-hyung is to make their relationship public, while Bok-ju is trying her damn hardest to keep it on the down low. And whilst I get where she's coming from, I like how Joon-hyung, though not always in agreement with Bok-ju, tries his level best to remain in sync with her regardless. He doesn't push her in the relationship, and nor does he demand anything of her, except for her aegyo of course!

How friggin' cute was all that pouting, though!? I'm not a huge fan of the aegyo to be honest - drives me bonkers, actually. But, this *swag* couple has the aegyo down to a pat, without taking it into cringe territory! Now that, I can appreciate. After throwing Joon-hyung to the ground, Bok-ju tries to make it up to him by reassuring him that she's not ashamed of their relationship, and that she has good reason for wanting to keep their status quiet for the time being. Of course, Joon-hyung's anger dissipates the moment he sees Bok-ju dish out the unintentional aegyo, and I just love how Bok-ju was nonchalant about it all when Joon-hyung pleaded to see more of it. Ah, he's a total goner!

Work that aegyo, Joon-hyung!
Bok-ju is such a girly-girl at heart, and I love it! I love it more when Joon-hyung observes the fact for himself, and smiles giddily every time he does. The moment Bok-ju plays hide-away due to a large zit on her nose, only to have Joon-hyung catch her out on it in the end, was both embarrassing and endearing. I love that even though she's close to Joon-hyung as a pal, she's still affected by him as a woman. She's known Joon-hyung long enough for him to have seen her at her worst by now, but the fact that they're in a relationship changes Bok-ju's perspective, and has her behaving in ways which Joon-hyung can only find adorable. It's clear that she's still inexperienced when it comes to relationships, but the fact that Joon-hyung is there, willing to guide her through her insecurities, and reassure her of his love, is just, perfect. He sure has a knack for understanding his girl!

I love how this naturally lead to that *almost* mandatory kiss! I sure wasn't complaining though - seeing Bok-ju in anticipation of a kiss was the most adorable thing ever. And equally adorable was the way in which Joon-hyung scrunched his eyes after seeing her pucker up, lol.

The thing I most love about this couple is their open adoration for one another. After hilariously being forced to hide in the wardrobe, Joon-hyung comes to the conclusion that it's been a crazy day, and asks Bok-ju how long they have to keep their relationship a secret. And though she still wants to keep it a secret for a little while longer, I love how Joon-hyung dejectedly agrees to it, only to follow it up with how adorable he finds her. *squeals*

This next sequence was too hilarious for words!! But I love that it forced Bok-ju to take action, and to fight for her man! For once, it was great seeing Joon-hyung on the receiving end of some love and attention, albeit of a threatening kind lol.

When Joon-hyung gets coerced by his friend to join him on a group date, he sits there with the most mundane expression ever. Lol despite not being able to say no to his friend, I love that his expressions are a dead giveaway that he'd rather be anywhere else but there, fearing Bok-ju's wrath were she to find out, which of course she does, muahahaha.

It's friggin' awesome how she decides to settle this from afar, with one look which spells out: "you're DEAD MEAT" - LOL Joon-hyung's reaction to this, is of course, priceless. The look of horror on his face when he receives her text, alerting him of her presence - ha!

I love how flustered and panick stricken he gets when Bok-ju tells him to end it within five minutes - lol this girl doesn't mess around!

In the next moment, one of the date girls decides to grope Joon-hyung's shoulders, cooing how broad they are - oh, no she didn't! Joon-hyung in his flustered state attempts to stop the girl from feeling him up, but to no avail. This is when Bok-ju makes her grand entrance. And I just LOVE how the camera slowly travels up to her face making her appear like some kind of human giant, towering over the others. It's pretty awesome, especially as it magnifies the look of fear on Joon-hyung's face. Lol ooooh, you are so dead!

Those daggers shooting out of her eyes, though, lol, makes me cackle to no end! I love that this is the moment Bok-ju decides to spill the beans, and she does so in front of everyone. Although she admits to their relationship in a moment of jealous rage (and justifiably so), I like how she came to the decision herself. It's not so much that she was distrusting of Joon-hyung, rather she chose to confront the girls herself, making it clear who the girlfriend is - love it!

LOL that gangster like tone, though! And poor Joon-hyung looks as if he's about to cry - completely understandable, since Bok-ju's wrath is no joke, heh!

Nothing can beat her friend's reaction though - pure gold!

I love how the big reveal lead to time out, with Bok-ju and Joon-young put on the naughty chair! Lol their friends had a lot to say about the matter, and were pretty thorough in their questioning - when, where, how, why - it was pretty much a verbal flashback, during which we get to sit back and enjoy the varying reactions. I love how Joon-hyung kept his back towards Bok-ju the whole time, but the fact that he couldn't even face his friends was super hilarious. Joon-hyung is most definitely a people pleaser, and having four people throw daggers at him, it's no wonder he's forced to cower! It's sweet though, coz whilst the three friends pushed for answers, Bok-ju makes sure to speak up for Joon-hyung too - see Joon-hyung, she totally has your back, literally!

But, rest assured, Joon-hyung has her covered too - prince charming is always ready to defend when others give her grief for keeping secrets! And this is why the two are so perfect for one another, they're both honest (as can be) in their interactions, and are respectful of the other when it comes to understanding their needs.

Of course, for Bok-ju's friends, words aren't enough. Joon-hyung has to prove his boyfriend worth by treating them to a full course meal - it's a meat fest I tell you!! Lol, and though he looks traumatised by the amount of money he's having to spend on keeping them satisfied, it's heartwarming that he's willing to oblige for Bok-ju's sake. The boy is broke, naturally, by the end of all that grilling! Tis tough being in Joon-hyung's shoes!

Once they reach their dorms, the love sick pair want nothing more than to spend some quality time together, but the friends are having none of it, and literally have to tear the two apart in this classic Romeo and Juliet style depiction, which is both hilarious and pathetic, lol.

Once in their rooms, the girls scream at the top of their lungs after hearing all the juicy gossip from Bok-ju directly - yep, we had the same reaction, girls; while the lads do some talking of their own, which leads to Joon-hyung confessing how sexy he finds Bok-ju's strength (to his friend's utter dismay lol). I must admit, I screamed louder than I perhaps should have! What can I say, Joon-hyung's honest confessions make me swoon at every turn!

And this episode was all about the honest confessions, which beautifully carried on till the very end. When Bok-ju admitted openly that Joon-hyung was her man, it was already a big deal for it showed that her feelings for Joon-hyung were sincere and honest. And it was important for him to hear those words from her, just like how important it is for her to feel secure as a woman.

So towards the end, when Joon-hyung reciprocated that confession, by confessing to the whole world that Bok-ju is his woman, it not only served to strengthen their relationship, but also did wonders to sooth Bok-ju's own insecurities around being a woman, and a weightlifter. For him, she's beautiful as she is. And he's no qualms in shouting it out to the rest of the world just how much she means to him. You go, Joon-hyung!

The feels this ep would make anyone want to be in a relationship!
